The Amazon

RAIN FOREST

Don’t

Cry for us

the river

the forest

you used

to see

before us,

The lush ferns,

Unique flora,

Panther,

Python,

Piranha,

Jaguar,

guarding

the lungs of planet

Earth,

The oxygen

The trees give

Is being savaged

And smelted

As we all ignore it.

As we pretend,

We are immortal-

There is a teardrop

on the curve

of the universe

Larger than the Earth

Waiting to fall.
