My Bleeding Heart
I wear it on my sleeve,
It bleeds pink, see?
It is invisible to most-
Except to me- the host,
They cannot see,
How the words hurt me,
My heart is in palpitations,
Call 911,
I need some Nitroglycerin.
I try to please-
I come with love and truth,
You see, that has always been,
Me. I am invisible to you,
As is my broken heart.
The scars are covered-
I’d cry all over you if I could,
But I never would,
Be so stupid,
To expose to those
That cannot see
Beyond their myopia,
Or the dystopia,
Hiding behind their I-Phones
They cannot see- eyes alone.
I’ve decided to recover,
Despite the wall of granite,
Despite the face of stone.
